How a Connect journey will work

Simple steps — join, ask for a ride ahead of time, we pick you up from your door.

Not available yet

You cannot book a Connect journey today. This page explains how it will work when we are ready. For now you can tell us you need help.

The simple picture

Membership contributions and journey charges have not been set. Any extra charge for a wheelchair has not been set either.

You book ahead — not like a taxi you wave down. Other members may travel with you if they are going a similar way. That helps us help more people.

Step by step

  1. Step 1

    Become a member

Fill in the form (or ask someone to help). We check we can support you. Membership contributions have not been set, including Concession membership for people on a low income.
  2. Step 2

    Ask for a journey

Phone us (when our number is live) or use a simple form later. Tell us where from, where to, when, and if you need a wheelchair space or a companion.
  3. Step 3

    We plan the trip

We see if we have a vehicle and driver. We may put you with other people going the same way.
  4. Step 4

    We confirm a pickup window

We will give you a time window (for example 10:00–10:15), not usually an exact taxi-style minute.
  5. Step 5

    We pick you up

The driver helps you from your door onto the vehicle, within safe limits, and takes you to your destination.

Please book ahead when you can

  • Best: at least a day ahead
  • Same-day: only if we have space — not guaranteed
  • Regular trips: sometimes possible, but busy school or day-centre runs usually need a different service

Fair for everyone

Joining does not mean unlimited rides. When we are busy, important appointments and essential trips may need to come first. Please cancel if you cannot travel, so someone else can use the seat.

Journey charges have not been set. When they are, they are meant to cover part of the real cost; partners, grants and community funding cover the rest — more detail here if you want it.

Can I book today?

No — not yet. Register your need and we will get in touch when we can help.

How much will it cost me?

Membership contributions and journey charges have not been set. Figures will be published before we take any money.

Will I travel alone?

Often you will share with other members going a similar way. We will not make your trip unreasonably long just to pick up more people.

Is this TfL Dial-a-Ride?

No. This is Community Ride Hub’s own service.

This is not a booking service yet

Community Ride Hub is preparing to operate. This page describes a proposed service. Journeys cannot yet be arranged, and nothing here is an offer of transport.
