Community day trips and outings
Alongside individual journeys, we want Community Ride Hub to run occasional group outings — a chance for members to get out together, not just to and from appointments.
What it is
Community day trips are planned group outings arranged by Community Ride Hub for our members — for example a visit to a garden, market, coastal town or event. They would use an accessible vehicle and be planned with the same care as any other Community Ride Hub journey, including support getting on and off and travelling as a group.
Who it is for
Day trips are intended for Community Ride Hub members, particularly those who rarely have the chance to travel further afield because of cost, mobility or lack of an accessible vehicle. Family members or carers may be able to join, depending on space and need.
How it would work
- Trips would be planned in advance, with a fixed date, destination and departure point
- Places would be limited by the number of accessible seats available
- Members would need to register interest ahead of a trip, in the same way as for other services
- Support would be available throughout the day, not just during travel
Cost
Day trips would normally be ticketed or fully sponsored so each trip recovers its real cost — they are not the same as free-at-point-of-use Community Ride Hub Connect journeys. Exact prices for each outing will be published when trips are arranged.
This is not a booking service yet
Community Ride Hub is preparing to operate. No day trips have a date or a destination yet, and nothing here is an offer of a trip.
